Intensive Writing Workshops–Writathor Air Wing

Start Date: 09/11/2026 | End Date: 04/30/2027

Location: Online (Zoom)

This is the one you’ve heard about! For teens (or teens at heart) this is the intensive, two-hours-a-week workshop on writing and publication that churns out contest winners (seventeen last year alone) and published authors. Yes, even if you’re a teenager.

Here’s why you should believe that Mr. C can write it, and he can teach it. He’s the principal writer of the Tuttle Twins history books (and much else in that universe), the author of the Trinity Flynn mystery series, and his books have sold over 350,000 copies in the last ten years. He counts eleven published authors among his current and former students.

For Teens (broadly defined):

Writelage Squadron (Monday Class):

Wheels up September 14, 2026. Every Monday from 2pm-4pm Mountain (4pm-6pm Eastern)

Author-ities Squadron (Friday Class):

Wheels up September 11, 2026, Every Friday from 9am-11am Mountain (11am-1pm Eastern)

Classes run September to the end of April.

Extensive reading of different kinds of stylistic material including short stories, novels, and essays on the art of writing. Students will be expected to write regularly and consistently, and to learn to edit their own and other students’ material.

All students will work together to produce a work for publication over the course of the workshop, and will receive royalties from the sale of the work in perpetuity. As such, this might be the only class a student will take in his life that could pay for itself, not down the road with a job, but right now, with work produced in the class itself.

Approximate Writelage and Authorities (Youth) Class Schedule (subject to change):

September/October: College Essays–how to write so that even a college admissions dragon will read it

November/December: Novels–the nuts and bolts of how to write long-form fiction

January: Poetry–the language that makes heroes

January/February: Flash Fiction–telling a story in 1000 words or less

February/March: Short Stories–how to cram a whole movie’s-worth of story into 7500 words

April: Publication–how to get the words from the screen to the page to the bookshelf

We ride out 6:30pm-8:30pm Mountain (8:30 Eastern)

NEW THIS YEAR!! If you’re like so many adults, you have a book in your head that you’ve never got on paper. Maybe you’ve dabbled, written a few chapters, even, but got bogged down and had to stop as life got in the way. This is your chance. If you sign up for the course and you follow it all the way to the end, completing all the assignments, at the end of the year you’ll have finished the book. Done. Complete. THE END. This is a money-back guarantee. Fiction, non-fiction, does not matter.

Location: We’re online this year!

Cost: $240 a semester or $70/mo*

Approximate Writers of Rohan (Adult) class schedule (subject to change):

November/December: Novel/Memoir structure

January: Poetic imagery

February/March: Scene by scene, how to make the story come together

April: Publication–how to get the words from the screen to the page to the bookshelf

*I charge for classes so I can afford to teach them. But money should never be a reason you don’t take a class from me. I can find scholarship money. We can work something out. If you want to be in my class, we’ll figure out how to make that happen. I promise.
