Intensive Writing Workshops–Writathor Air Wing

Start Date: 09/05/2025 | End Date: 05/05/2026

Location: 1 East Center, Suite 210, Provo, UT (and online everywhere!)

This is the one you’ve heard about! For teens (or teens at heart) this is the intensive, two-hour a week workshop on writing and publication that churns out contest winners (eight last year alone) and published authors. Yes, even if you’re a teenager.

Here’s why you should believe that Mr. C can write it, and he can teach it. He’s the principal writer of the Tuttle Twins history books (and much else in that universe), the author of the Trinity Flynn mystery series, and his books have sold over a quarter of a million copies in the last 5 years. He counts two published authors among his former students.

There are two options (squadrons), Monday and Friday, with two groups (flights) per day:

Writelage Squadron (Monday):

Core flight (novice): (Utah County onsite, online Anywhere) Mondays, 2:30-4pm

Strike flight (intermediate): (Utah County onsite, online Everywhere) Mondays, 2-3:30

Author-ities Squadron (Friday):

Core flight (novice): (Utah County and Boise, ID onsite, online Everywhere) Fridays, 9 to 10:30am

Strike flight (intermediate): (Utah County onsite, online Everywhere) Fridays, 9:30-11am

Classes run September to the first week of May.

Extensive reading of different kinds of stylistic material including short stories, novels, and essays on the art of writing. Students will be expected to write regularly and consistently, and to learn to edit their own and other students’ material.

All students will work together to produce a work for publication over the course of the workshop, and will receive royalties from the sale of the work in perpetuity. As such, this might be the only class a student will take in his life that could pay for itself, not down the road with a job, but right now, with work produced in the class itself.

Core Flights are open to any writer 13 or older of any skill or success level (we really mean any). Strike Flights are for those who have significant experience (or who have taken a Mr. C writing workshop before). The classes overlap, so 30 minutes of each 90-minute session will be focused on a smaller group, with 60 minutes combined with both Core and Strike. I promise it’s not that confusing when you see it in action. Flights and Squadrons are flexible, as well–any student is welcome anytime we’re flying. If you register for Monday and need (or want) to come Friday, no problem, and vice-versa.

Location: We’re online this year! For those in the Utah County, UT or Boise, ID area, there may be onsite classes as well. Link provided after registration.

Cost: $425 if you’re solo, $325 if you bring a friend (and they get tuition at the same rate!)
